KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Drs. Frank de Zanger is by profession a Water Management Expert and Environmental (Safeguard) Expert. He has built up considerable experience in both and combined fields and has been involved in a large number of water projects, environmental projects, project formulations and project evaluations, both overseas as well in The Netherlands.
In his function as Water Expert, he has been involved in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Projects and has been responsible for water resources investigations, water quality studies and groundwater & irrigation development. In his assignments as Environmental Expert he carried out Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA's, IEE's) for water supply and sanitation projects, waterway improvements, irrigation, flood protection, drainage, highways, railway systems, port and harbour developments, land reclamation, and waste disposal.
As Project Manager for overseas projects, Mr. De Zanger has been in charge of Environmental Impact Assessments in Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Ivory Coast, Nepal, Poland, the Russian Federation, Tanzania and Vietnam. He was involved in the preparation of the National Environmental Action Plan for Palestine and was in charge of urban and rural water supply and water quality studies in Indonesia, Bangladesh, Malawi, Malaysia, Mozambique, Nigeria, the Philippines, Samoa and Trinidad.
Furthermore, Mr. De Zanger worked as Team Leader on the implementation of the Federal Water Resources IWRM Strategy in Nigeria and as a team member on the Integrated Water Resources Management/IWRM Policy for the African Development Bank (AfDB). He has been a member - as Senior Environmentalist as well as Senior Water Specialist - of WB, EU, AfDB, NEDA/DGIS, SENTER and NWP-missions in India, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Latvia, Brazil, Mexico, Nigeria, Chad and Cameroon. As Environmental/Staff Officer for the Holland America Line he has been responsible for ship's compliance with environmental laws and regulations, was involved in training and environmental audits, and assisted in the introduction of an Environmental Management System.
Drs. Frank de Zanger has proven to be an excellent writer of reports and editor of large and complex reports and proposals.
